Physics 1 Course - Unit 2 - Vectors, Velocity, and Acceleration

03 - Add & Subtract Vectors Using Components, Part 1 (Calculate the Resultant Vector)

Get more lessons like this at http://www.MathTutorDVD.com Learn how to add vectors using the x-component and y-components of the vector. In order to find the sum of two vectors, simply add the x-components of the two vectors to find the x-component of the resultant. Then, add the y-components to find the y-component of the resultant. The resultant vector's x and y components have been found, and you can then find the magnitude of the vector and angle (direction) of the vector using trigonometry as usual.
