In this method, the circuit is broken into several meshes where a current inside of each mesh is assigned. We then write a system of linear equations that describe the entire circuit in terms of these mesh currents. Once the mesh currents are found, any other voltages or currents in the circuit can be easily calculated. This is a central method of circuit theory and is used for many circuits where the node voltage method is cumbersome to use.
