    Statistics Tutor - Vol 8 - Correlation & Regression

Lesson 1 - Learn Scatter Plots in Statistics

Get this full course at http://www.MathTutorDVD.com. In this lesson, you will learn how to identify and construct scatter plots in statistics. In a scatter plot, the x and y variable are plotted as a pair, and use look at the relationship between x and y to determine if there is any relationship between the variables. If the variables are related by positive correlation, the line tends to trend upwards. If the variables are negatively correlated, the line tends to slope downwards. We will learn about scatter plots and how to determine negative and positive correlation in this lesson by looking at the slope of the line connecting the data points.
