What are Points, Lines, Rays & Planes in Geometry? - [1]

More Lessons: http://www.MathAndScience.com Twitter: https://twitter.com/JasonGibsonMath In this lesson, you will learn how to identify lines, rays, and planes in geometry. A point is simply a location in space with no size or dimension. A line is a collection is points that extends in both direction infinitely. A plane is a 2D surface where all lines and points lie. Lines, rays, points, and lines are important to geometry because all topics beyond this are built upon these topics. For example, when we get to triangles and triangle similarity we need to know that the sides of the triangle are made up of line segments. Also, when studying angles, we need to know that the two sides of the angle are composed of rays in geometry.
